Transitions into fall..

Top: Old Navy {similar} || Skirt: Made by Haylee Atkinson || Shoes: Chinese Laundry via T.J. Max || Purse: Dooney & Bourke || Necklace: Anthropologie || Sunglasses: H&M

Yay for fall!! Fall has some of the most beautiful, rich colors. This maroon is one of them. I love the color of this top! We had family pictures this weekend and this was the look I choose for our pictures! This skirt is a knockout against the amazing color of the top. Both pieces are such great transitions into fall and the cooler weather. I can't get enough of both items! (I have a feeling I will be wearing these items a ton!) I can't wait to show you how our pictures turned out!!

I can't tell you how excited I am about my new flats as well! These shoes looked just like some flats that Zara had last year. I remember wanting them way bad but never bought them. I found these beauties at T.J. Max! The brand is Chinese Laundry. This brand is quickly becoming one of my favorites! If you have ever seen Kristen Cavallari's shoe collections through Chinese Laundry you are missing out! Check it out here.

Have a wonderful Wednesday! Trying to get over a sinus infection/ cold... ugh! Hopefully everyone is healthy and well!

P.S. LOVING my new bangs!!! A much needed change!

Trend spin link up: stars & stripes

Shirt: AE {old, loving this}, Dress: Old Navy {similar and perfect for the 4th!}, Shoes: JMR {Still in stores}, Watch: Fossil, Necklace: Bridesmaids Gift, Purse: Dooney & Bourke {thrifted}

Happy Monday!
Hope everyone's weekend was fabulous. Today's post is showing my love for mixing prints! I have had both these items for awhile and decided to pair them together. I am pretty much living in dresses at the moment. It is to dang hot to wear anything else! Cant ever go wrong with a good stripe. {Or pattern mixing for that matter!} Because of the lack of stars in my closet, I went with stripes! Follow the link up with Walking in Memphis in High Heels & The Fashion Canvas for all things stripes and stars!!  Also linked up with Style Sessions!

How do you mix your prints?!

Trend Spin Linkup- Chambray

Shirt: Old Navy {similar}, Pants: Nordstrom Rack {similar} , Shoes: Forever 21 {old, craving these!!!), Watch: Fossil {old}, Bracelet: Whimsy, Sunglasses: H&M

I'm soo late with my post today! Life has a way of getting crazy. However, I'm so excited for this weeks trend spin with chambray! This is one of my favorite shirts to wear and its so versatile. You can knot it like I have done here with pants or even with a dress. (Below is my chambray look with one of my favorite maxi dresses) I decided I wanted to pair it with one of my favorite new pairs of pants! I saw a picture on Pinterest of some that looked similar to these and loved them. I found these at Nordstrom Rack (one of the best places ever!). Cant wait to see everyone's link up with chambray!

Aloha Hello, Aloha Goodbye

Aloha!!! Well we are back from our Hawaiian adventure... and soooo sad that we had to leave! We loved every second of our vacation. (especially the part where we could sleep in and then go to the beach!) When we arrived in Hawaii we had to stay at a hotel because our condo didn't start until the next day. I have to tell you of the funny story that happened to us while we stayed there. At about 3:30 in the morning we heard pounding on our door. We decided to ignore it and went back to sleep. Then again at 5 am there was pounding on our door again. This time Zack got up and went to the door. There was a drunk lady there telling us to let her in. Zack told her she had the wrong room and she responded by saying, "No I don't, let me in!" (and  swore at him... ha-ha) Zack said, "yes you do, go away!" and shut the door. Luckily she went away but now we have a funny story to tell!

The next day we drove up the Pali high way and went to the Pali lookout. It was beautiful! We spend some time at the most beautiful beach called Lanikai beach. The water is so blue and the sand so soft and white! This also began the beginning of our many sunburns. I highly recommend this beach to whoever is on Oahu! Finally we were able to go to our condo on the Makaha side of the island. It was a little bit far but perfect for us! We had our own private entrance to the beach the condo's were on. Talk about amazing!

Over the next week we went to some of my favorite places on the island of Oahu. We went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation, up and down the north shore (waimea, sunset, pupukea, & turtle beach), The shrimp trucks, The Polynesian Cultural Center, Laie LDS temple, and Kahana Bay & state park. It was such an amazing week. One of our other favorite memories was playing in the waves that were coming in on Waimea bay!

We are wishing we could go back but for now we will just have to settle for our countdown until Hawaii next summer! Here are some photo's from our trip!

The view from the Pali lookout!
The view from our condo!

Our hike up the Laie Ridge! (on accident...)

One of my favorite outfits from the trip! In hawaii you always need a great summer dress to wear!
Dress: J.Crew (craving this one!), Bag: via TJ Max, Sandals: Urban Outfitters, Watch: Fossil (old)
My other favorite outfit! (loving these flowy skirts & neon!)
shirt: J.Crew Vintage v-neck, Skirt: Old Navy (gifted & old) wanting this one!, Shoes: Sam Edelman (old) via TJ Max, Belt: via Ross (old)
Now I have this countdown to look forward to...

Hope everyone has had a fabulous Memorial day!

I don't know about you, but I'm feelin 22

Yayyyyyy for birthdays!!
I'm finally 22. Its crazy how time flies! Graduation & a birthday is a great way to spend a weekend! Lets just say my husband spoiled me rotten for my birthday!! On Sunday, we went to church and did our weekly nursery duty :) We have the cutest kids in our class! This time though Zack had to go and teach Elders Quorum so I was left to take care of 6 little children! (all under the age of 3!!!) Yeah... lets just say I didn't sit down once. I was constantly moving, those kids are so hyper!  I don't think I would ever want 6 kids under the age of 3 at once. After church we decided to watch some modern family and then we went to my in laws house for dinner! They had such a yummy birthday dinner for me. They make the best ribs! Mmmm... and then they made Texas chocolate cupcakes. I'm obsessed with the cake they make so they decided to indulge my love of cupcakes and make those instead. For my birthday present they gave me a new fishing pole! (it has pink on it... Love it!)

On Monday morning, (my birthday), my amazing husband made me breakfast in bed! Pan cakes and eggs... :) Then excitedly he brought me the presents that he had bought for me! He had already given me one as a graduation gift so I could wear it! I was so excited to open them. (Best husband award!!!) He got me some of my favorite things on my wish list! After I opened the gifts and freaked out because I was so excited, we got ready and he took me to the tulip festival!!!!!!!! I love tulips and it was such a relaxing day to just walk around and enjoy the sun and beautiful gardens at Thanksgiving point.

Later on we went to Zack's basketball game (that is another story in itself)... But after the game, we went home for Zack to get ready and then went out for my birthday dinner! I had been craving Olive Garden because of the break sticks. Sooooo good. If you go to eat there try the mixed grill. It was super yummy.

Over all it was one of the best birthday's that I have ever had! Thanks to my amazing husband and family. Here is to another year! (thanks Jenny for the blog post title idea!! love you!)
