1st Anniversary!! Xo

1.02.13

Today is so special to me and I can't believe that it has already been a year since Zack and I were married! This year has been one of the best years of my life. I absolutely love being married! There have been so many memories made through out the year. We have had our arguments and challenges but they have come with so much growth. I couldn't have asked for a better man to spend the rest of forever with. He brings me so much strength, comfort, love, patience, and I wouldn't trade anything that has happened this year! I love you honey!! Xo

Here are some pictures of us throughout this amazing year!

So happy to be ringing in a wonderful new year with this amazing boy!! Can't wait for many more years of memories

Aloha Hello, Aloha Goodbye

Aloha!!! Well we are back from our Hawaiian adventure... and soooo sad that we had to leave! We loved every second of our vacation. (especially the part where we could sleep in and then go to the beach!) When we arrived in Hawaii we had to stay at a hotel because our condo didn't start until the next day. I have to tell you of the funny story that happened to us while we stayed there. At about 3:30 in the morning we heard pounding on our door. We decided to ignore it and went back to sleep. Then again at 5 am there was pounding on our door again. This time Zack got up and went to the door. There was a drunk lady there telling us to let her in. Zack told her she had the wrong room and she responded by saying, "No I don't, let me in!" (and  swore at him... ha-ha) Zack said, "yes you do, go away!" and shut the door. Luckily she went away but now we have a funny story to tell!

The next day we drove up the Pali high way and went to the Pali lookout. It was beautiful! We spend some time at the most beautiful beach called Lanikai beach. The water is so blue and the sand so soft and white! This also began the beginning of our many sunburns. I highly recommend this beach to whoever is on Oahu! Finally we were able to go to our condo on the Makaha side of the island. It was a little bit far but perfect for us! We had our own private entrance to the beach the condo's were on. Talk about amazing!

Over the next week we went to some of my favorite places on the island of Oahu. We went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation, up and down the north shore (waimea, sunset, pupukea, & turtle beach), The shrimp trucks, The Polynesian Cultural Center, Laie LDS temple, and Kahana Bay & state park. It was such an amazing week. One of our other favorite memories was playing in the waves that were coming in on Waimea bay!

We are wishing we could go back but for now we will just have to settle for our countdown until Hawaii next summer! Here are some photo's from our trip!

The view from the Pali lookout!
The view from our condo!

Our hike up the Laie Ridge! (on accident...)

One of my favorite outfits from the trip! In hawaii you always need a great summer dress to wear!
Dress: J.Crew (craving this one!), Bag: via TJ Max, Sandals: Urban Outfitters, Watch: Fossil (old)
My other favorite outfit! (loving these flowy skirts & neon!)
shirt: J.Crew Vintage v-neck, Skirt: Old Navy (gifted & old) wanting this one!, Shoes: Sam Edelman (old) via TJ Max, Belt: via Ross (old)
Now I have this countdown to look forward to...

Hope everyone has had a fabulous Memorial day!

Time Flies...

I cannot believe it has been 3 months since we were married! Time really flies by so fast. Its crazy to think about how much that has happened even in these three months. I'm lucky that I get to be with this amazing man forever! (Our Hawaii countdown... 44 days!!!)

Last night (sort of in celebration) we had tickets to go to the Jazz game!!! Thanks Becky :) We had so much fun! To be honest..... this was kinda my first Jazz game! I think I had gone once when I was little, but not for a really long time- that I can even remember. I was teaching at school when Zack sent me the excited text about us having tickets! We have been wanting to go for a very long time. In preparation we went and bought my very own jersey. Love it! Had to choose Hayward... just had to :). Zack kept saying I had a crush on him but to be honest... he was one of the only players that I really knew the name of, plus he is really good! Our seats were way close to the court in the lower bowl. I kinda felt sort of famous. (ha-ha) The spirit at Energy Solutions was crazy! People are so into the games and really love their team. It was fun watching up close and being able to see all the plays. I don't think I have ever been so into a basketball game before. Cant wait until we get to go again!!

A year of Beautiful Beginings

As long as I could remember, I have wanted to start a blog! I am an avid blog reader and love getting new ideas and inspiration from them. I have now built up the confidence to start up my own! This year I have had and will have many new beginnings. I was married January 2nd 2013 to Zack Bigelow and have loved this new adventure! There is never a dull moment. I will graduate in one month from Utah Valley University in Health education. Crazy! Time has flown and now I see a light at the end of the tunnel. I will also start into a new career not just a job. Its a scary time of transition but also excitement to figure out where we will end up in our future and what we will accomplish!

To start my blog I decided I was going to share how Zack and I met. We get asked all the time so now Ill have it in writing :)

The Story
In February 2012 we met at a friends house. Zack had served as a mission companion to a friend that I had in high school. (Small World!) He tried to offer me a seat on the couch to which I denied. I had been dating someone else for a very long time and the last thing on my mind was flirting with someone else. Little did I know, after that meeting, Zack was asking about me and wanted to get to know me better. Our friends told him to  move on because I most likely wouldn't give him the time of day -- which was true at first. A couple months went by and we met again. This time it was mini golfing. All our friends got together to go and we began to talk a little bit more. However, I still was dating someone else and wasn't thinking that we were going to date. He began to add me on different social media sites like Facebook, instagram, and twitter. I followed him back on all of them and that began my curiosity in Zackery Bigelow. A couple weeks later, everyone got together for a bonfire at Southwood park. I went with some of my girl friends and then Zack showed up....... with a another girl! Secretly I was kind of bugged.. but brushed it off and had fun. He later told me he was so mad that he brought another girl because I was there! We didn't end up talking that much during that night. We met a few more times through group gatherings of mini golf, fires, and bowling. Finally in June, Zack sent me a tweet! (hahaha I know... this is what it took.) I had been doing henna tattoos at my sisters graduation party and Zack took that moment to tweet that he wanted me to give him one! The very next day I gave him my number so we could talk easier than tweets and Facebook messages. After talking all day, I invited him to go to the drive-in movies with all our friends. We meet and ended up just talking the whole movie. The whole next week we talked non stop! He came down to Provo to visit me. We hiked the Y (my first time ever), went grocery shopping (I know... that about made me fall in love right then), and then went to Cafe Rio. He would call me at night to wish me good night, text me throughout the day, and was just there for me. I started to get really confused. I was still dating someone else and I didn't know what to do. The relationship I had been in for so long wasn't the healthiest. For the majority of the time it had been long distance and we hardly saw each other. I knew I needed a change but change was hard. That weekend we hung out with a bunch of friends up at my families condo at Snow Bird Lodge. That night I started to be distant. Little to say I told him in a text when he left that we couldn't hang out or talk anymore. I needed to figure out what I was going to do. He was heartbroken and even though I didn't want to admit it, I was to. That next Wednesday I decided I had to see him. I texted him and we met for dinner at Rumbi's in American Fork so it was half way for both of us. We didn't talk much at dinner, but after we sat and talked for 4 hours! That talk led to me breaking up with my long time boyfriend and knew that Zack was the one I was supposed to be with for forever. Such a crazy feeling! I had never felt it before in my life. We haven't been apart since!
The End
