A Little Thought..

Happy Monday!

I want to say sorry ahead of time for my absence of outfit posts this week. I am just coming off the flu and will be taking more pictures this week! This whole past week has been filled with fevers over 103, body aches, chills, major coughing, and everything unpleasant that comes with the flu! One good thing is I made it through the school week with only having to miss one day. Having to prepare less for a substitute is just fine with me!

I have also had a few other things on my mind. I love the Christmas season that is upon us! It is filled with the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping, decorations, Christmas songs, lights, presents, nativities, family, parties, snow, layers, hot chocolate, and so much more! It is so easy at this time of year to be consumed with the commercialization of Christmas. All the shopping (which I love, don't get me wrong), consumed with thinking about things you want, comparing what you have to others, or being envious of what others are getting!) I just read a blog post that, Jade @ A Spoonful of Style (A daily read!) wrote about blogging! Its a feeling that I have mutually shared! I absolutely have loved blogging about my personal style! It has brought me so many new friends, helped me become more creative, and learn so much about an industry that I love! I learn so much every day. However, one side that has been really hard for me is comparing myself to other bloggers that I admire and look up to! At times I feel inadequate to be blogging about personal style. I feel that others can do it so much better than I! Others are more successful, prettier, better clothes, more resources, etc. Its a tough world to break into! Its hard not to focus on the things that you don't have when it feels like everyone else is always getting the newest thing. This isn't easy to come open about this way that I feel sometimes! I try and focus on the positive and growth that I have experienced while starting on my style blogging journey!

I don't like to be a downer because I love blogging! It has brought me so much more confidence and ability to open up. I can't wait to continue into the new year and to continue developing my blog even more! Thank you to all those who have supported me on this journey. You are who keep me going! At this Christmas season I am so grateful for the things that I do have and am blessed with! I have amazing family, a wonderful job, a husband who is my biggest supporter (I love you Zack!!), great friends, a cozy home protecting me from this snow, my religion, and my health!

Thank you for listening to my ramblings this morning and I am grateful for all my readers! You also keep me going and boost me up with all your sweet comments and words of encouragement!

Below is a picture of mine and my husband's Christmas tree! We decorated it yesterday and had so much fun! I thought I would share a little bit of our Christmas cheer! Have a wonderful start to your week.

  1. You're the sweetest, and I love this!! It really is so true. Sometimes blogging feels like a "Keeping up with the Jones" type thing and obviously all of us can't afford to do that! But you have amazing style and always look incredible!! Sorry to hear about your flu, feel better!

  2. Kahana I feel the exact same way. In fact this is a big reason why I don't post super often on my blog because when I get super into "the blogging world" so to speak I totally just get caught up in the comparison trap. It's hard when there are so many bloggers out there who are beyond gorgeous, super talented, dressed impeccably every day, and have a wardrobe that seems to never end! It's hard to keep up! haha so thanks for being honest about feeling that way because it's refreshing to know I'm not the only one. :)
